Questions for Level 1

  • In this passage, we return to the time before the exile. How does the king respond to the Word of God? (36:23-24). Why do you think he acts this way?
  • What happens after this? What do you think this tells us about God's Word?

Questions for Level 2

  • The Rechabites were faithful to follow the traditions of their ancestors, but they ignored the Word of the Lord. How do we sometimes follow rules, but forget about God?
  • God's message was not destroyed, even though king Jehoiakim burned the scroll with God's Word on it. How do we respond to God's Word, and how do we recognize and honor His communication to us?
